Target Cybercrime Half Day Seminar Roadshow
Cybercrime is becoming increasingly prolific in the UK. During 2011 it cost an estimated £27bn with £21bn the cost to business, £2.2bn the cost to government and £3.1bn to the general public. These figures are possibly worse as organisations do not want to admit they had been the victims of attacks for fear of "reputational damage".
However, high profile attacks on companies such as Sony, Lockheed Martin and RSA show that traditional security technologies are no longer keeping pace with cyber threats.
"It is a bit like terrorism - the more you know the more frightening it looks," Baroness Neville-Jones.
Many organisations do not know if they have an issue as the security technology they have does not detect new types of threat and attack which can come in a magnitude of forms both from external and internal sources.
In a 2010 study across over forty anti-malware/ anti-virus applications by MRG Effitas the Zeus virus was on average only detected 38% of the time as cybercriminals are becoming more adept at stealthily hiding malware to traditional security.
Traditional Security Technologies are no Longer Keeping Pace with Cyber Threats.
Join Cygnia and four cutting edge IT Security vendors to show you how to protect your organisation from Cybercrime.
NB, All the presenting vendors have advanced unique features that are not replicated in any other solutions.
During the seminar you will learn:
-
What the current threat is from Cybercrime and who is most at risk
-
How cybercriminals target and gain access to networks and how easy this is to do in many cases
-
Why your current security infrastructure may not detect unusual and criminal activity
-
What leading technology solutions are available to help detect and prevent cybercrime and how they differ from traditional IT Security options
- A chance to ask questions to leading industry experts on how best to protect your network from Cybercrime

AET’s (Advanced Evasion Techniques) are one technique Cybercriminals can use to blindside Next Generation Firewalls and IPS (Intrusion Prevention Solution) allowing malware payloads to be delivered to vulnerable machines on the network. In 2011 Stonesoft issued 124 new AET’s to CERT, the Computer Emergency Response Team. Stonesofts Unique IPS technology detects and stops AET’s before they enter the network. |

Gartner, Inc. estimates that the volume of “unstructured” data (e.g., documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, etc.) in an organisation doubles every three months or so. With so much data knowing who has access to what and who is accessing it becomes a nightmare. With Veronis Data Governance Manager organisations can manage their unstructured data knowing, who has acess to files and documents, when they have been accessed and where else they may have been moved, changed or deleted. Preventing cybercrime is ensuring that important documents and folders are kept safe and Veronis Data Governance Manager provides that capability. |
